Anarchist perspective on the war in Ukraine

24.02. 18:00 @Jorge-Gomondai-Platz, Dresden
On Thursday, 24.02.22, at around 5am, Putin launched an imperialist war of aggression by invading Ukraine. Explosions were reported from the largest cities in the country. This makes it clear that it is not just about the Lukansk and Donetsk regions in eastern Ukraine. The war in Ukraine means flight, injury and death of many people. Cities, villages, livelihoods are being destroyed. Putin’s patriarchal, imperial fantasies are not worth the loss of even a single life!

Prison is based on the system of punishment. This means that social problems are not negotiated, but locked away. Terms like re-socialization become a farce when we look at the conditions in prisons. The social isolation from friends, family and society is an aspect of everyday life in prison. There are few communication channels and hardly any opportunities to enter into exchange outside the prison walls.
Add to this the pandemic that has been aggravating social isolation since March 2020. Visits are limited, sometimes only possible behind partition walls and with a mask, telephone calls are incredibly expensive and digital communication options such as Skype calls are only possible to a limited extent.
We call on you, come to the rally on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 4 pm at Jorge Gomondai Square!
The year 2020 was marked by the death of George Floyd and the discussion about police violence. However, this sad event was neither an isolated incident nor a new development. Police violence has existed as long as police have existed. Police stops and violence do not happen by chance. Mostly people who are affected are poor, people of color, black people, homeless people, young people, people who do not fit into gender norms, people with mental problems, political activists.
We invite you on 3rd November to join us at fundraising solidarity dinner in AZ Conni in a lovely atmosphere. Everybody coming will be served with three-course menu for donations.

The measures extend from verbal warnings to a specific person (Gefährderansprachen), public defamation of individuals, obstruction and destruction of camp infrastructure to police raids and preventive detention. Due to media coverage it’s publicly known that the joint Centre for Counter-Extremism and Counter-Terrorism (Gemeinsames Extremismus- und Terrorismusabwehrzentrum) in Cologne has designed this strategy.
