For some time now, Andreas has been complaining that mail is being misappropriated from him, postcards are being withheld and the newspapers “Gefangenen Info” and “Rote Hilfe- Zeitung” are not being handed out. This harassment has been going on for weeks now. As the prison management continues to show ignorance, Andreas has decided to go on hunger strike!
It is well known that Andreas is not in the best of health.
“For over a week now, I’ve been experiencing more pain in both kidneys and I’m excreting black blood, which is now known to all the officers here. I’ve been waiting six days for an urgent request to see a doctor. (29.01.2024)”
But at the moment he had no choice but to resort to this means.

Subject: Unanswered requests to receive the newspapers “Gefangenen Info”, “Rote Hilfe- Zeitung” and retention of documents from 15.01.2024
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have applied several times for permission to receive and hand over the newspapers “Gefangenen Info” and “Rote Hilfe”. To date, the Prisoner Info newspapers have been withheld from me and my requests have gone unanswered.
On 15.01.2024 at 3.30 p.m. a cell check was carried out on me and in the course of this several older issues of Gefangenen Info, which I received on my arrival in Tegel via the house chamber, and other documents were withheld without a withdrawal protocol. However, I insist that I want them back.
On 22.01.2024 at 3 p.m., I was refused a request to hand over the book “Der Taifun/ Eine Autobiografie”, which is with my belongings in the house chamber. The reason given was that it would jeopardize my and other prisoners’ reintegration. As I wrote it myself, it certainly cannot jeopardize my reintegration, nor that of the other prisoners, as it is about the prison from the past and completely different books would have to be on their index.
After arriving at Tegel Prison, several things were confiscated from me at the house chamber.
For example, a copy of a book with about 100 pages “History about RAF”, which can be bought in any bookstore and has an ISBN number. Furthermore, 2 brochures in A5 format were withheld from me, one in the style of a comic in Italian and another in the introduction to the history of the “RAF”.
I request the authorization and handover of all the above-mentioned items. The applicant will go on hunger strike from 29.01.2024 until a positive decision is made and in the course of this will make these grievances, among other things, accessible to a broad public.
There will be no room for negotiation in this regard.
