Come with bicycles, scooters, wheeled vehicles!

Abolish all prisons! In Germany, too, social peace is secured with prison walls behind which people are locked away. They do not serve as protection against dangerous criminals. As a rule, it is mainly those who are too poor to buy a car and instead use public transport for free who end up in prison. Or those who are not allowed to work or cannot find work and are therefore forced to sell drugs.

Rarely do those end up in jail who “float on top” in this society, cheat society out of several million euros in taxes, or are responsible for Turkish soldiers being able to shoot Kurdish cities with German tanks.

The criminal law, the courts, the police, the public prosecutors, the prisons secure exploitation and oppression. They do not serve “resocialization”: outside society, people are not educated to act socially. Jails stigmatize, violate, humiliate, and dehumanize.

Instead of focusing on humane alternatives, the Saxon and Thuringian state governments are building a new large-scale prison complex in Zwickau to create capacity for even more sentences. What do they need it for? Social upheavals caused by the Corona pandemic or capitalist crises provoke resistance. They lead to poverty. They ensure that even more people are cut off from fullfilling their needs.

The Corona crisis hits incarcerated people particularly hard. They are cut off from freely chosen health care, cannot provide themselves with good food, are kept in cramped quarters, and often suffer from mental health problems. All this makes them particularly vulnerable to the virus.

Against criminalization we put our solidarity!

For an end to all proceedings against social movements!

For the end of all prisons!

But not only prisons are places of inhuman treatment and deprivation of rights. Such places are also the numerous camps for refugees, both within the European Union and at its external borders. They criminalize the freedom of movement of all people who, with full rights, are fleeing environmental destruction, poverty and wars. They seek peace, freedom and happiness in the European Union. They seek the promise of democracy. But instead of recognizing that the global devastation is the cause of European domination of the planet, the EU denies this responsibility! Instead of reparations and equal rights, states in Africa, Asia and South America get free trade agreements, arms supplies and structural adjustment programs.

Those who now make it to Europe are pushed back and forth in camps for years. The refugees live in a seemingly endless waiting loop, without control over their fate, without the possibility to decide.

The fundamental right to asylum was revoked many years ago. Since the summer of migration, more and more steps have been taken to move from a policy of reception to one of deportation. Larger and larger camps, combined with detention centers for deportation for quick processing, isolate the refugees from society. They prevent arrival, they prevent support and solidarity. Even the democratically guaranteed rights to an adequate legal defense are restricted here!

What is true for prisons in the Corona crisis is just as true for camps. People live in confined spaces without free access to medical care. The quarantine of entire camp complexes is all the more cynical. People are left to their fate, the probable infection with Corona. Those who are lucky may survive. A measure that has been used several times against refugees and poor people since the beginning of the pandemic.

Stop it! The camps must be dissolved. Throughout Dresden’s city center, there are numerous empty new buildings that would be ideally suited for the safe housing of refugees.

For the immediate closure of all camps!

Freedom of movement for all!
