Maja’s trial in Budapest will continue in June. Five days have been set so far. At the first hearing, there were many expressions of solidarity in the courtroom and outside the courthouse. On the second day of the trial, Hungarian neo-Nazis showed up in large numbers. Nearly 100 neo-Nazis from the Hungarian groups “Betyásereg” and “HVIM” gathered outside the courthouse. They tried to intimidate people. They also filmed the list of names of registered persons who attended the trial.
Neo-Nazis have also registered a rally directly in front of the court for the next two days of the trial, June 4 and 6, against Maja and the other defendants.
But we will not be intimidated and we will not leave our friends alone.
There will be a joint demonstration to the court and a rally during the trial. Maja should hear us after months of isolation.
What to keep in mind for the 4 and 6 June:
The rally will be a place that offers us reasonable safety. Nevertheless, we must expect filming by the press and neo-Nazis.
Travel in groups to protect yourselves from neo-Nazi harassment, be alert, and take care of each other. Bring sunglasses, a scarf, a hat, a medical mask, an umbrella, appropriate banners, and food.
