04 February – Demonstration on the occasion of the verdict in the Maja trial in Dresden

6pm Carolaplatz, Dresden

Call from the open assembly against repression. Demonstration on the occasion of the verdict in the Maja trial on:

The trial against Maja in Hungary is expected to end on February 4, 2026. After 17 days of hearings and 587 days in solitary confinement, a legal verdict is to be handed down here. The content is already clear: the Hungarian state has long declared anti-fascism to be terrorism. Hungary prohibits and censors queer ways of living. The Hungarian state cracks down on opposition and critical public opinion with bans on demonstrations.

None of this will be mentioned in the verdict, however.

Maja will receive a long prison sentence for standing up to the Hungarian judiciary. For rejecting every deal and repeatedly explaining themselfe. For going on hunger strike to defend their own dignity and their own life . And also for the fact that in February 2023, the neo-Nazi commemoration of heroes took a slightly different course.

The end of the trial does not mark the end of the fight for Maja’s freedom, but rather the beginning of the next stage.

For an uncomfortable anti-fascism!

Whether on February 13 in Dresden or at the AfD party conference in Riesa, in the city council, in the neighborhood, on the street, or at work: we do not stop Nazis by charming them with offers of discussion and compromise. Nor do we have to confront Nazis on the substance of their arguments. Neo-Nazi ideology and its representatives must be blocked, sabotaged, and hindered in their work wherever possible.
We stand for a society without fear, without competitive pressure and norms that constantly tell us how to be. Without murderous borders and without
mountains of wealth side by side with blatant poverty.

Solidarity. Anti-fascism. Uncomfortable.
