Anarchist and artist David Chichkan – forever in our hearts

The day before yesterday, anarchist and artist David Chichkan was seriously wounded while fighting Russian fascism in the Zaporizhzhia region, defending against a Russian infantry attack. On the morning of August 9, his heart stopped beating.

David joined the army last year. You probably don’t know him. But his pictures may look familiar to you. For over ten years, we have had postcards with his motifs on our distro table. He painted political pictures from an anti-fascist and anarchist perspective, about religion, society, education, and equality. Since the war, he has created numerous murals in Ukraine. The theme of war has also been present in his paintings in recent years.

David’s death is a heavy loss for the anarchist movement.
Our thoughts and hearts are with his family, friends, comrades, and fellow fighters.

Rest in Power
