This year, the International solidarity week for anarchist prisoners will be spent for the fifth time in 23rd to 30th August and we come stronger than ever!
Some political prisoners are already supported, but far from all of them. Also, the supported are usually involved in authoritarian politics and not grassroots activities. Anarchist prisoners are not often well-known people, even though they might be long term activists. Their ways to fight back oppressors and wrongdoings are not necessary following the current laws of their location, which is judged by some authoritarian organizations. As the third annual July 25th International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners approaches, we find ourselves fighting the hydra of fascism and far-right ideology. While its many heads have distinct looks in different parts of the world, this beast spews the same venomous poison of nationalism and bigotry everywhere. G20 once more is a hit in the face of all those people for whom social justice and freedom isn’t just an utopia. To compensate our anger we did a poster action. We wanna show our solidarity and also we wanna confront people in our neighbourhood with the incidents in Hamburg and the repression which is going on there.
For a world of solidarity and justice without hierarchies and exploitation. Block G20!
February and March have marked one of the most active protest period in the recent history of Belarus. Thousands of people were protesting not only against the infamous unemployment tax but against dictatorship of Lukashenko. People in the cities all around Belarus have organized their local gatherings and planning further steps in their struggle. Anarchists played an important role in those protests in several places. Reaction from the state followed – hundreds of people arrested and sentenced to short term arrests of 10-15 days, several are now prosecuted for planning riots.
During the evening we will have a presentation about the country, actual situation there and political struggle inside. After presentation there will be a chance to ask your own questions about the situation. We will be also gathering money for those affected by repressions – for fines, parcels and some money support in case people loose their jobs or don’t get paid. Presentation will be in english with german translation if required.

People without personal connections to the area usually have to rely on the media and the perception of outside political groups when learning about struggles abroad. In our reception of the sources available to us, we often try to form an “objective” perspective and forget that we see things through a filter of our local political schema. We listen to established “experts” and don’t see our prejudice stemming from colonial/imperal perspectives.
